Purpose

The Neutron Scattering Systems System Acceptance Review (NSS SAR) shall demonstrate the Science Directorate’s technical, procedural and organisational readiness to start hot commissioning of neutron scattering instruments incl. operating the required support infrastructure.

Review Charge

Has the Science Directorate delivered what is described in the license application, and is the SD planning to operate as described in the license application / Concept of Operations?

Specifically, the committee is asked to evaluate if

• the Science Directorate’s internal organisational interfaces sufficient for supporting initial trial operations in the experimental halls, associated laboratories, and workshops?
• the Science Directorate have sufficient organisational interfaces with the rest of the ESS to support initial trial operations in the experimental halls, associated laboratories, and workshops?
