On Saturday 24 August 2024 ESS will have the first Open Day on the Lund site. The special event will be fully dedicated to you and your friends and families to celebrate together the progress on the ESS Road to Science.
The event will be an opportunity to have a nice time with colleagues, friends and family members, participating in learning and social activities to find out more about ESS from the inside. Broadly there will be:
- The opportunity to explore parts of the facility
- A quiz-walk
- A fun run – or walk!
- Hands-on and interactive activities for children and grown-ups to learn about ESS
- Talks about ESS science and technology by our staff
- Free snacks and refreshments
- A picnic area if you want to bring your own food
- A chill-out zone – a TV area for children, a book exchange
Registration is mandatory: You can register yourself and up to 3 guests. To manage the flow of people onto site you need to register an arrival time slot, and do your best to arrive on time.
You as an ESS employee are responsible for your guests during the event and all its activities, meaning that you have to supervise your guests and ensure they follow the general house rules at ESS.
Please note there may be areas of the event which have limited access and where children will not be allowed, or will need to be accompanied 1:1 with an adult.
We anticipate a visit to last around 2 hours. If you can spare more time, please consider signing up as a volunteer for another part of the day. Volunteers are being coordinated through Jo Lewis comms@ess.eu
