    The Beam Delivery System of ESS relies on a system of triangular wave raster scanning dipole magnets that paints each 2.86 ms beam pulse transversely across the spallation target. The system operates at tens of kiloherz and moves the beam centroid in a Lissajous-like displacement pattern with a rectangular outline.
