From the outside, research infrastructures may appear as rarefied ivory towers of scientific excellence. We, on the inside, know that this is not the case.

We have the tools and expertise to serve both fundamental science as well as applied scientific questions and industrial challenges. But how far are we willing and able to go to serve the entire breadth of research challenges out there?

Perhaps it is time for the RIs to look at themselves and ask:” Are we as open as we think for stakeholder and society expectations in the 2020s?

The session will be led by Magnus Larsson (Head of Industrial Relations at MAXIV Laboratory), together with Ed Mitchell (Head of Business Development Office at ESRF). They will be joined by Graham Appleby (Business Development Manager at the UK’s ISIS Neutron and Muon Source)It will take place on Thursday, 17 June, from 15:00 to 15:30 CEST.
