Please be invited to the BIFROST Instrument Safety Readiness Review Meeting.

The on-site demonstrations of BIFROST Safety Systems to the Review Committee will be conducted in the morning session on 4 December, as part of the iSRR Review.

Overview of BIFROST iSRR Documentation 

You can find attached the detailed invitation list that contains their role in the review process.

The charge for BIFROST iSRR demonstration is:

  1. The scope is safety, both occupational health and safety, safety related to ionising radiation and effects on the environment where applicable.

  2. The SRR is a procedure by which hardware, personnel and procedures associated with commissioning and operation of the system are verified.

  3. Is the instrument ready for safe commissioning and operation?

        • a) - Present cooled filter, have Nitrogen dewar on roof, show vacuum readout
        • b) - Show thermocouples at hutch
        • c) - Have pumping cart on the roof, orange in position, connect cables and pipes
        • d) - Move sample jaws
        • e) - Show them NICOS
        • f) - Move tank to get get-lost-tube out. Move tank to get it in. Show limits at low angles
        • g) - Move sample table and gonios
        • h) - Hatch and guard rail
        • i) - Operate as part of PSS demonstration
