Welcome to the Exploring High Performance Computing & Storage workshop.
This is the third edition of this highly valued event series. The principle is simple: participants can present on any HPC topic from their environment, preferably GPFS storage related.
The HPC & storage workshop will take place in Lund,, Sweden, from 02-04 September 2026, with two tours of the ESS facilities in Lund, Sweden. The programme also includes a conference.
Organised by the European Spallation Source (ESS), the HPC & storage workshop invites participants to explore the role of data throughout the entire scientific lifecycle - from proposal to publication.
This HPC & storage workshop provides comprehensive training across the full ESS Data Pipeline, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to manage, analyse, and exploit neutron data effectively.
The programme will feature lectures and hands-on workshops covering topics such as:
* Using Python for scientific computing
* Data management and the role of data in beam time proposals
* Simulation of neutron scattering experiments
* Modern data reduction and analysis techniques
* The importance of scientific metadata and reproducibility
