Description
The IKON meetings are a regular forum where the technical progress of the work-packages from the various ESS member countries for the ESS neutron science programme are presented. By bringing together current and future partners, the meeting aims to provide an overview on the various activities and fertilize exchange that is vital to our success. Scientists from ESS member countries currently not engaged in-kind activities but interested in joining are encouraged to participate.
At IKON5 we will focus on instrument concepts for a scientifically balanced Instrument Suite. We invite the various teams to present their instrument concept during the plenary session on Thursday in view of the next round of instrument proposals. In 2012 the first instrument concepts were presented and several are now recommended by the Scientific Advisory Council for construction. This highlights the relevance of an IKON presentation as important part of the instrument proposal process.
IKON5 will be a two-day / one-night meeting starting on Wednesday lunchtime and closing on Thursday afternoon.

Please provide us with the title of your presentation preferably by August 23rd. This will help us to prepare the final schedule for the meeting.
Neutron Technologies will still be an important part of the meeting and the ESS teams working on Choppers, Detectors, Electrical Engineering and Neutron Optics will be available during IKON5 on Wednesday with dedicated booths for detailed discussions. For specific questions to the NT groups please contact us and book a time-slot.
Work Unit meetings of the different instrument classes will also take place on Wednesday afternoon. Work Unit meetings for Neutron Technologies might be scheduled at the beginning or at the end of IKON5.
